Course Description: Denim Group will provide a two-day, hands-on training program intended to teach software developers and security analysts to assess the security of web based applications. The course identifies the goals of an assessment and how assessments best fit in a software security assurance program as well as hands-on approaches and techniques. The course introduces the use of automated web application attack tools and examines both their strengths and weaknesses. The course also covers tools and techniques for manual attacks against applications.
The course outlines a structured methodology for web application assessment that should allow participants to get repeatable results when assessing the security of applications. Topics such as threat modeling, attack list maintenance, results collection and reporting are included so that participants who complete the course should be in a position to assess applications within a professional environment.
