Webinar Series - Threat Modeling for the Masses
Security professionals are often held accountable for the security of systems or applications in development, but they don't have the background to provide meaningful input to developers.
Up to this point, threat modeling has been the sole domain of architects and senior developers. This series is designed to empower security professionals and project managers with a tool that gives them a voice in the development process.
Speaker: John Dickson, CISSP, Principal of Denim Group Part 1: Basic Threat Modeling - November 13, 2007 at 3:00PM (CST) Understand the basic concepts of threat modeling, gain tools for creating a threat model, and learn techniques to apply these concepts in the development process.
Part 2: Threat Modeling Applied - November 27, 2007 at 3:00PM (CST) This part of the series will demonstrate how to apply threat modeling concepts to identify serious security flaws that might occur in the development of a simple web-based loan application. Specific areas of emphasis will include conceptualizing the application's data flow, identifying potential threats and categorizing these threats based upon business risks.

AOP is particularly well-suited for administrative or framework code that is necessary but is not specifically tied to the business logic of the code around it, such as security checks or logging.
