Which SharePoint is Right for You?
By Sheridan Chambers, Kevin Edwards and John Saboe
Microsoft provides two versions of its document collaboration
and portal framework application, SharePoint: SharePoint
Services and SharePoint Portal Server.
There
seems to be a lot of confusion in the marketplace about the
difference between these products. Because the price is very
different, it pays to understand exactly what your
organization needs.

Threat Modeling:
Categorizing the nature and severity of system vulnerabilities
Finding and rating vulnerabilities in applications is only a
small part of the Threat Modeling process. Threat Modeling
is a
communication tool. It allows system security personnel to
communicate the potential damage of security flaws and to
prioritize remediation efforts.
At the San Antonio OWASP Chapter Meeting on August 18,
Michael Anderson and Cap Diebel of Denim Group discussed
the process of Threat Modeling and why it is important from
a business and technical standpoint. If you missed the
meeting, you can find their presentation on our website by
following the link below.
About the San Antonio Chapter of OWASP: In 2004,
Denim
Group founded the San Antonio chapter of OWASP (Open Web
Application Security Project), an organization dedicated to
finding and fighting the causes of insecure software. Denim
Group designed the San Antonio OWASP chapter as an open
source clearing house for best practices, methodology, and
software for its chapter members. For more information
on OWASP, visit
www.owasp.org.
